The pass line bet.
This bet is placed immediately prior to the come-out roll. If the come-out roll is 7 or 11, you win. Of it is 2,3 or 12, you lose.
This is the most important bet for some of the players. It is easy accessible to all bettors around the whole length of the table. Most of the player will however bet on the pass line because they are following the shooter. These players put their hope on a pair of “hot” dice and that it stays that way for the whole duration of the game.
Pay attention to the point markers that indicate the come-out and point rolls. If the current roll is the come-out roll, the disks are on “OFF” and off to the site of the betting layout. When a point is established, th disks are placed in the right point boxes. These point markers will clue you in to whether the next roll is a come-out roll or a point roll.
The house edge for pass line bets are 1.41%. This is one of the best bets in the casino, especially due to the fact that it requires no skill at all. Players will rarely find such a low house advantage on bets that are pure luck.
Bets on the pass line cannot be removed or reduced after a point has been established. Player will be allowed to increase the bet. You do not want to do that. The biggest advantage for the pass line players is on the come-out roll. You will have a better chance of winning than losing. The estimated chances for 7 or 11 is 8/36 and 2,3 or 12 is 4/36. Once the point has been established, the odds are against the pass line bettor. The casino will let you bet on the pass line in the middle of the round after you have missed the come out roll. This action is called a put bet.
Please note that the put bet would be quite foolish to attempt. A player will sacrifice his or her advantage by placing such a bet.
