Surrendering

Surrender is a rule found in some casinos that is actually quite beneficial to the player. Ask if they allow surrender before you play a match. The rule applies only to the outside bets that pay even money. If the ball lands on 0 or 00, you will lose half of your bet, rather than the full amount. This will reduce the casino’s advantage on even-money bets. Even-money bets become better than other bets but you will sacrifice the chance to receive a big payout.

European wheel

The tables are usually run by two croupiers. A rake is used to clear losing bets from the table. Players will use standard casino chips, rather than the ones at American roulette tables. The main difference between the variants, is the wheel which only has 37 numbers which includes a single 0. The payoffs for the batson the European version is exactly the same as its American counterpart.

En Prison

Most European roulette tables offer a rule called en prison. This is similar to surrender. The only difference is when you make an even-money bet and the ball lands on 0, your money is not removed from the table. It is considered to be “in prison” and the faate of your bet is determined on the next spin. If the bet comes in on the next spin, the money will be returned to you without the winnings. If the bet loses, you lose the original wager. If the ball lans on the zero again, the betwill remain “in prison.”
